International Center of Theatre Art in Ridgefield is a nonprofit
association dedicated to the advancing
Michael Chekhov humanitarian principles of
theatre and culture.
The Center aims to popularize Michael
Chekhov's creative legacy and his contribution to world culture by
organizing and presenting
Michael Chekhov festivals, conferences, and lecture series.
It supports research on the history of
the
Chekhov Ridgefield School.
It preserves Chekhov School sites in
Ridgefield (the actual former school and two houses).
To
promote Michael Chekhov’s
approach to art and education, the Center
Michael Chekhov International Center of Theatre Art in Ridgefield
(Michael Chekhov ICTA) is a nonprofit association tasked with the
advancement
Michael Chekhov ICTA intends to support new
research on Michael Chekhov’s biography, the history and theory of
his
Method, especially those concerning
Chekhov’s Ridgefield Studio – one of the most distinctive
institutions in theatre history. This field of research will also be
a great contribution to the history of the town of Ridgefield. The
work should result in the establishment of the Museum of the Michael
Chekhov School in Ridgefield.
Michael Chekhov ICTA provides various
kinds of support for any institutions and individuals who might be
interested in studying theatre and mastering Michael Chekhov’s
technique.

provides assistance and consulting in creating
studying groups, courses and theatre
workshops
for amateurs and professionals. In the
future, we are planning to establish the Michael Chekhov Educational
Center and library with experimental theatre workshop attached.
